Street Team

About the Department

The FCSS Street Team Department works on communication to the student body on major faculty-wide events, student-led intiatives, and elections.

Expectations

As a member of the street team department you are responsible in showing up to all street team departmment meetings, doing class talks with the scripts provided outside the meetings, advertising events, and showing up to Faculty of Community Services Society events.

Unity Squad

About the Department

The FCSS Unity Squad Department works on major faculty-wide events such as planning for the FCSS Frosh and O-Week.

Expectations

As a member of Unity Squad department you are responsible in showing up to all Unity Squad departmment meetings, planning events outside of the meetings, facilitating events, and showing up to Faculty of Community Services Society events.

The Faculty of Community Services Student Society Department Committees is one of the only ways in the Faculty of Community Services to meet, network, and grow on your real world professional development skills throughout your 2-8+ years here at the FCS whether you are a part-time degree or full-time student.

Time comitment is 4-9 hours a week.

About Academics Department Committee 

About the Chair

Academics Committee for the 2021-2022 academic school term is being chaired by Prasha Sivasunduram who has led this department for over a year to date. Prasha is going into her fourth year of the Collaborative Nursing Program

About the Department

The FCSS Academics Department works on hosting academic related faculty-wide events, advocacy, workshops, and seminars for Community Services students to engage, learn, plus grow. 

Expectations

As a member of the academics department you are responsible in showing up to all academic departmment meetings, planning events outside of the meetings, facilitating events, and showing up to Faculty of Community Services Society events.

About Marketing Department Committee 

About the Chair

Marketing Committee for the 2021-2022 academic school term is being chaired by Daniel Barkin who has led this department for the past 2 years to date. Daniel is going into his third year of the Urban and Regional Planning Program.

About the Department

The FCSS Marketing Department works on content creation for all faculty-wide events, advocacy, initatives, and the referendum campaign for Community Services students' future student society. Other day-to-day tasks include managing the social media accounts, and improving the corporate branding.

Expectations

As a member of the Marketing department you are responsible in showing up to all departmment meetings, doing your work outside of the meetings assigned on time, showing up to seminars on UI + UX design, and showing up to Faculty of Community Services Society events.

About Governance & Policy Committee 

About the Chairs

Governance & Policy Committee for the 2021-2022 academic school term is being chaired by Trinity Ho and Jacob Circo (Alumnus). Jacob has ran the committee for the past 3 years. Trinity was a past associate brought on to chair for this upcoming year.

About the Department

The FCSS Governance & Policy Department works on creating, and fine-tuning the final constitution, by-laws, and supporting policies for the future student society in the Faculty of Community Services.

Expectations

As a member of the Governance & Policy department you are responsible in showing up to all departmment meetings, working on edits, policy, plus tasks outside of the meetings. Additionally help facilitating town halls, and community consultation meetings.

About Street Team Department Committee 

About the Chairs

Street Team for the 2021-2022 academic school term is being chaired by Daniel Barkin a 3rd year urban and regional planning student, and Rido Creer a second year collaborative nursing student.  

About the Department

The FCSS Street Team Department acts as the year reps for each program on the Faculty of Community Services Society (FCSS). This department is to advise years on upcoming events, referendum, and initatives.

Expectations

As a member of the Street Team department you are responsible in showing up to all departmment meetings, doing your work outside of the meetings assigned on time, and doing in-person/zoom class talks.

Events Committee for the 2021-2022 academic school term is being chaired by Arsh Braich, and Kirthega Jeevanathan. Both Arsh and Kirthega have ran the committee for the past year.

The FCSS Events Department works on creating, and fine-tuning the final constitution, by-laws, and supporting policies for the future student society in the Faculty of Community Services.

Expectations

As a member of the Events department you are responsible in showing up to all departmment meetings, planning chunks of events outside of meetings, and facilitating the events.

About EDI Department Committee 

About the Chairs

EDI Committee for the 2021-2022 academic school term is being chaired by Kenedy Byron, adn Anette Boersma.  Both Kennedy and Anette have ran the committee for the past year.

About the Department

The FCSS EDI Department works on hosting wellness events, selfcare workshops, and EDI events/initatives throughout the year across the entire Faculty of Community Services.

Expectations

As a member of the EDIdepartment you are responsible in showing up to all departmment meetings, planning chunks of events outside of meetings, and facilitating the events.
